DESIGNER SERIES: LET'S TALK STYLE - CONTEMPORARY

We’re excited to bring you our new blog Design Series: Let’s Talk Style! This week, we’re talking Contemporary, but we’ll go over multiple design styles in the next few months, so stay tuned.

This series will help you better pinpoint and understand your design vision, and it’ll show you how to bring each style to life with cohesion, while teaching you the design terms industry insiders use.

Let’s get started!

Contemporary

By definition, Contemporary style is whatever is happening “now” in interior design. It’s a style that is constantly changing/evolving. Here’s what it looks like and means in 2020:

What Describes Contemporary Style

Clean Lines, Simple Shapes, Clutter-Free Surfaces, Pops of Color, Minimal Pattern

Colors and Materials

Muted Tones, Grays, Beiges, Creams, Whites, Blues, Pops of Brights. Materials: Mid-Tone Wood, Metal, Stone/Marble, Clear Glass

Word of Warning

This style is in constant evolution so you need to stay on top of what is featured in stores/what the clients are asking for to truly keep up with contemporary styling.
