AFFORDABLE TOUCHES: WARM WEATHER SPRING DECOR ON A BUDGET

New season, new look. With winter in the rearview it’s time to give your space a lighter feel. Banish heavy throw blankets for more ethereal interior design touches without going broke. Here are some warm weather spring decor ideas from our designers. They won’t break the budget, either!

I always think of coastal elements for warmer months like shells, river rocks, driftwood, fresh flowers, and natural woven rugs.” -Angela

The Coastal Oak

Add florals, such as orchids or tulips, by bringing plants (real or faux) into your home, so your spaces come alive with blooms, just like the outdoors. It gives texture and makes rooms feel more inviting. Branches added to vases will also connect to nature and can even create height on a console table where needed.” -Anita

The Creativity Exchange

While there are things that are purely decorative in my house, I like to focus on refreshing for each season with items that are practical and useful. For example, I have throw pillows for the colder months and different ones for the warmer months. When shopping for accessories for the warmer months, think about colorful, unbreakable glassware, easy-care succulent plants or cactus, and natural soy candles in scents that relate to the outdoors. Winter vases and accessories tend to be opaque, with a heavier ceramic feel. Glass vases, on the other hand, reflect light, showing the element of water with cut flowers and branches with a spring/summer feel.” -Jeanie

Jeanie’s Real-Life Spring Refresh

I love adding fresh spring flowers or branches to my space. They’re inexpensive (maybe even free if you can find a field to pick from!) and look so beautiful in a clear glass vase. It’s the perfect warm weather staple and always makes my home feel airy and pulled together without being overly done.” -Paulina
