Hallways should not be dark and dingy. Add lighting with a chandelier, sconces, or lamps. Lighting not only makes your hallway look better, it makes it function better, too. No more tripping over left behind toys in the darkened hallway!

Go dark with paint! It creates a cozy dramatic space, rather than a blank, white, and gloomy one. Then, add pops of color.

Having a place to drop keys and mail makes an entry console a must. And a console that has some storage or space for stools underneath to put shoes on is even better.
