Nailed It (In The Wrong Place)
You’ve hung all your art and you’ve realized it’s all wrong. Now, you have what seems like a million little holes in your walls. That’s okay, we’ve got a suggestions. First, use removable hooks when hanging art. You can place it where you think you want it, and after a few days, if you like where it is, replace it with a permanent fixing. Or, if you don’t, easily take the art down and start over.

You Went To The Dark Side
Yikes! You loved the deep color when you saw it in a magazine, but on your own walls it makes your space look dark and creepy. We have one solution: go to the light! Add lighting placed strategically about the room. If you want to make a more drastic change, repaint the room a lighter shade, then fill that richer color craving by incorporating it in accents pieces like pillows, throws, and accessories.
You’ve Gone Trend Crazy
It might be tempting to follow every trend, but remember, they are called trends for a reason. Make sure when you do go trendy you can live with it for a long time. Try updating your space with the latest and greatest using smaller, more inexpensive items. That way, you can enjoy them while you can, and if you get sick of them or want to go in another direction, you won’t feel like you wasted money.
Fit Issues
We know measuring your space for a new furniture item can be a pain, but if you don’t, well, a picture is worth a thousand words! Our favorite trick to ensure the furniture fits the room is to create 2-D boxes with blue (painter’s) tape on the floor. It’s easy-peasy, and you’ll be sure what will or won’t work in your space before it’s too late.
Bad Paint Job
Color looks different in different spaces due to the natural and artificial lighting. Taking the time to try various paint colors on your walls prior to painting is not only going to save you time, it will save you money. Why repaint when you don’t have to? Just select multiple hues of the color you like and test them on you walls. Check out our insider tips for sampling and selecting the perfect paint color here.
