DOUBLE-TAKE: OUR DESIGNERS REPURPOSE WARM WEATHER DECOR ITEMS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Things are expensive this year, and with the supply chain being broken, it’s taking a long time for shipping. That’s if you can even find what you’re looking for.
So, we decided to do something a little different this holiday season. Instead of touting what to purchase, we asked our designers to give us their best cold weather repurposing ideas for warm weather items.
Why spend more money on holiday decor if you don’t have to?
Here’s what they said:
“I love to take a summer vase that I use for fresh flowers, and put winter branches and holly in them around holiday time. It’s so simple yet so striking.” —Anita

“I have silicone ice cube trays that I use to freeze fruit slices in the summer months. During the holidays I freeze hot chocolate in them to drop in a cup of cocoa to cool a little quicker without watering it down. I also make frozen hot chocolate treats. So festive!” —Angela

“We like to keep our deck furniture outside through most of the winter. We bring sheepskin throws, blankets, and pillows then light some candles or sit around the fire pit with friends.” —Jeanie
“I take my leftover summer candle wax and re-melt it into a beautiful holiday candle holder. It’s easy to do. Looks and smells amazing, too.” —Paulina
