OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW: PANDEMIC-FRIENDLY DESIGN TRENDS
It’s an understatement to say 2020 has been the year of getting adjusted to new things. Even in a pandemic, design trends evolve. Here’s five pandemic-friendly in’s and we’re so over them outs:
Out: Oversized pulls
In: Integrated hardware
Why it’s pandemic-friendly: For the affordable price of $86.99 per set you can change up the look of kitchen cabs or dresser drawers. What a pick-you-up!

In: Environmentally conscious fireplace
Why it’s pandemic-friendly: Curl up and binge to your hearts delight without the need for a chimney. Plus, this one is from Wayfair and it’s super wallet-friendly, too. It’s on sale for $233.40.

Out: Pale monochromatic rooms
In: Bold monochromatic spaces
Why it’s pandemic-friendly: They’re energizing! And really, couldn’t we all use a bit of that right now?

Out: Perfection
In: Layering old with new
Why it’s pandemic-friendly: For one, you don’t have to replace everything you own. Mix your old pieces with new so you’ll save money. Two, perfectionism is over-rated. Just do the best you can and give yourself a break, there’s enough chaos in the world. Especially when it comes to home, which should be your zen haven.

Out: Formal separation of spaces
In: Multi-functional rooms
Why it’s pandemic-friendly: Office/closet combos, bedroom/office integrations, this design trend is becoming the norm in the age of pandemonium.
